For the long weekend of four days, Oliver decided to go back home. Being at Hogwarts everyday was sometimes hard for the couple and so he was taking advantage of every long weekends such as this one to come back home. And when his children wanted to come as well, he was bringing them with him, at the condition they were, of course, bringing their homeworks and finishing them before they were all back to Hogwarts. He didn't want his children to fail because of him. This time only Jade came with him.
Oliver passed the night with his wife but since she had to work in the morning, she left him for the day. He woke up relatively late, well later than he has too due to classes and such at school. He thought being nice to his girl who was home as well and prepared pancakes, waiting for her to wake up and join him for breakfast.

Jade wasn't really sure why she came back home. After all, she wanted to spend most of her time with Asher. She had found him, and now she wanted to be back with him, but of course, she had gone home with her father. Why she did, she wasn't sure. Nothing she could do about it now.
Waking up rather late in her room, Jade got dressed and went downstairs, sliding on the cold tile. She hadn't put shoes on yet, but she didn't mind. Sliding around like she was, was actually fun. Well until she ran into a wall or door and got hurt. That was something she did a lot. Stepping into the kitchen, Jade looked over at Oliver, raising an eyebrow. "Good morning dad." she said with a soft smile, taking a seat on a counter next to him.

Oliver turned his head as he heard his daughter's clear voice. He smiled at her. "Morning sleepyhead. Are you hungry?" he asked, placing the plate with the pancakes on in front of her. He went to the cupboards to get two more plates for the two of them, forks and knives, butter and of course syrup. He placed everything on the counter where she was sitting. Sure that wasn't the table, but it made no real difference. Resting on an elbow, he placed a pancake in his plate and put butter and syrup over it.
He looked at his girl while doing that. "You don't have too much work to do?" he asked. Jade of course knew the condition for being here during the weekend. Oliver didn't want to say though the reason why he also wanted her to be here: trying to fix things up between Jade and her mother Rora. Oliver never understood why Jade hated her mother so much but one thing he knew, it made him sad to see it.

Jade looked over at him, raising an eyebrow at him. She took a bite of the pancake he had given her and smiled lightly. "No not really." she said turning her gaze from her plate to him, then back to her plate. "I just have this letter that I really need to write right now." she continued, sighing gently.
Jade was actually quite glad that her mum wasn't home. She wasn't sure how long she could stand being around that woman before yelling at her. She couldn't stand her mum, the woman was just a pain. She preferred being around her dad, he was a lot calmer, plus she got a lot of her personality from him.

Oliver nodded. He knew that the best way with jade to know something was not to push her but to let her say it when she'll be ready. Plus, he had no real intention about knowing who she wanted to write to. Probably a friend, maybe a lover. That should please Rora, his wife was always afraid Jade would never have a love interest. Of course, it wasn't something Oliver loved best. He always kept a close watch to any guys looking at his girls. No matter how old they were, they were still his baby girls, especially Jade, his little angel.
"You mother's working today. Maybe we can do something together if you want." he proposed. The two of them were alone today after all. And he thought it could be a good moment to try to talk about Rora to Jade, see if he could do something for the two of them to get along.

Jade smiled at him, taking another bite of her pancakes. She thought he would ask her who she was writing to, but he didn't. She found that as almost a shock. "You're not curious who I'm writing to?" she asked, taking another bite of her pancakes, wishing she had something to drink.
Raising an eyebrow at him, Jade nodded once, turning her gaze back to her pancakes and eating another bite. "I guess so." she said with a shrug, finishing up her pancakes.

Oliver smiled to jade but shook his head. "It's your life, you can write to whoever you want." he said simply. Sure he was a little curious, but in the same time, he knew she wouldn't write to someone dangerous or anything of the kind. It was certainly just a friend. And asking who she was writing too if it was simply a friend would sound quite paranoid and overprotective. He didn't want his children to think he wanted to rule their lives.
He smiled once more to Jade and took her plate along with his, placing them in the sink. "Was there anything you planned to do besides work and letter writing?" he asked, wondering if maybe she wanted to go shopping - this could be a reason why she came with him.

Jade smiled, rolling her eyes playfully. "I'm sure mother would ask if she was here." she said, shaking her head. She knew her mother was quite nosy, and always asked her what she was doing, or who she was with. Of course she never really knew why, though Rora always seemed to be asking about guys when it came to Jade, which bugged her a lot.
Looking over at him, Jade shook her head. "Dad you know I hate shopping. I'm not that kind of a girl." she said laughing lightly, looking out the nearby window at their backyard watching as a group of birds fluttered by the window, almost knocking into the glass.

Oliver sighed lightly at how she spoke of her mother. "You know she does that because she cares for you." he said softly. He really wanted Jade to understand that. "She,s afraid something may happen to you." he added, hoping maybe she would believe him. Of course, Rora never put it this way, but Oliver was feeling like that and so he found no reason why Rora wouldn't.
He smiled hearing Jade laugh. "It depends what. You don,t shop just for clothes or jewels, also for quididtch gears, books and all." he said still bearing his smile. He turned his head in direction of the window when he heard a little knock. He came closer to look at the bird. He opened the window, ready to help it but it flew away. Apparently, he didn't knock the window too hard. Good, because it recalled him when Jade once found a dead bird when she was about six. Oliver had to chase away the cat that wanted it for his breakfast and bury the bird in the garden.

Jade looked over at him, shaking her head. "I don't really care. I don't care for mum." she said jumping off the counter. She went upstairs and into her room, cleaning up her room since she really needed to since her room was quite messy. She wasn't really sure why all of a sudden she felt for cleaning her room, she just did.
Returning downstairs, Jade looked at her dad. "Can we just go somewhere and leave mum out of our conversations? I don't want to fight right now." she said simply, crossing her arms over her chest.

Oliver sighed once more looking at his girl laaving the room. He never told Jade nor Rora how much it was hurting him all of their fights. He was bearing it without a word, trying to help them being friends. Sure was a hard task.
As Jade was upstairs, he cleaned the plates and ustensils. Then he wrapped the pancakes remaining and placed them in the fridge for another time. After he was done, he noticed jade was down once again. He nodded. "What do you want to do?" he asked her, coming closer to his girl and making her stop crossing her arms like this. He never said it to ehr but it was typical of his mother, talking to him while crossing her arms.

Jade looked up at him, looking at his hold on her arms. "I don't know, what do you want to do?" she asked, raising an eyebrow as she loosened her arms from his grip and wrapped them around him, resting her head against his chest. She didn't really know why she felt like hugging him, she just did. She was still slightly tired, and just wanted to curl up somewhere and sleep.
Raising her head, Jade looked up at him once more. "How come the others didn't come home as well?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

Oliver startled slightly when he felt Jade hugging him. It had been such a log time since any of his kids ever hugged him. Smiling, he hugged her back softly. Maybe the fact they were alone made it easier. He was certain it was embarrassing for them to do it in front of the entire school.
He looked down at her. "I think Juliet wanted to do some more works and Cole... well he didn't say he wanted to so he's not here. Maybe he wanted to go to Hogsmeade with his friends." he explained. He wasn't really coming to his children, he was saying when he was going out but they had to tell him if they wanted to come. Well, maybe except this time, since he asked Jade if she wanted to accompany him.

Jade looked up at him. "I should have brought a friend, then I wouldn't be stuck with an old man." she said teasingly, resting her head against his chest once more. She loved teasing him, especially when she made fun of his age. It was so easy since he was pretty old, even though she and her siblings were kind of old as well.
Pulling back, Jade stuck her tongue out at him. "Very old man." she said teasingly, running outside. "I bet someone as old as you can't catch me." she said running to the edge of their pool, stopping before she fell into the pool.

Oliver laughed gently. He knew he was old. He had his children at around 30. Which resulted that every parents of their friends were nearly ten years younger than he was. But Oliver knew people were usually not giving him 46. He was healthy, thanks to quidditch, daily training and a good diet.
He laughed seeing his girl running away after challenging him. For an 'old man' Oliver was still quite able. So he ran after Jade outside of the house. He caught her before she was to fall in the pool, lifting her above the ground and putting her down away from the edge of the pool so there would be no accident. "I think the old man is still able to outrun the youth." he replied teasingly.
