It's been several years. Buffy, Faith and the rest of the Scoobies rushed to L.A. to aid Angel in his battle. Now the survivors have been working to rebuild the Watcher's council. To find the newly activated Slayers. To start a new era. One in which Slayers are trained, have Watchers, even witches to help them. Are kept in contact and work together to keep the dark at bay. Joined together at the Hyperion, their new base. They've grown and fought these last 7 years.
And down in the tunnel where the deadly are rising
Oh I swear I saw a young boy
Down in the gutter
He was starting to foam in the heat
Keeping to the shadows, confused, and newly alive again, is Dean Winchester. Not sure where he is, he's not alone. Everyone has woken up in a different place then when they went to sleep. No memory of the night before, suddenly everyone is separated. Sam wakes up no where near his hotel, or the Impala. Instead, Cordelia Chase, wakes up on the road in the back of the car. The last thing she remembers, is being in the office at Wolfram and Hart. In they Hyperion are not all the slayers or Buffy and the Scoobies. Instead, Dean wakes up wondering what kind of hotel this really is.
No one is where they should be, mass confusion incited by, of course, Wolfram and Hart. Using the confusion to build again. To have their hands in the world around them, hoping that by the time the hunters find each other, by the time the slayers reconnect, it will be too late. The Hellmouth rumbles under the crater that used to be Sunnydale. Lost friends are unable to find each other, and phones are not working for any of them. Something keeps them from communicating and each has to find their own individual way out, if they want to get home, and stop the war, before it's begun again.

And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating
Still beating
Breaking out of my body and flying away
Like a Bat out of Hell
