xX x Xx Shirley went up to the owlery having to send a few letters to her parents. Her mother always worried about her. It was true she was the youngest of the family and that her sister was now married with a cool guy but still, she was 16 and wondered about why she had to write almost every months to her parents. She shook her head and grabbed a parchement before writting down.
'Hi mum, dad , I'm fine, didn't get into a fight this month with any snobbish or slytherins that is. I'm still practicing Quidditch I'll go for the try out so I could be the part of the team again... that's all for the week, I hope everything's fine for you two.
Love, Parker.'
Shirley rolled her parchement and whistled for her owl to come. She smiled as her owl went over to her shoulder and petted it a little before linking the parchement to it's leg. She gave it a treat then went over to the window and opened it watching the owl flying away over to her house. Parker grinned and then closed the window having in mind to go and practice at the pitch until she bumped into someone.

Kenji was grouchy. Since the beginning of the week, he couldn't find any inspiration at all to draw even the smallest of sketch. Not even a little smiley face, nothing! Of course, people couldn't tell too much from his face that he wasn't in the mood, he wasn't really good at showing his feelings. Plus, who would care, not like he got friends around here.
Because of that lack of muse, he decided to explore the castle in hope of finding some great spot where maybe inspiration would come to him. He tried a few classes, the staircase, even the bathroom with moaning Myrtle, nothing did it. Myrtle was interesting, but he couldn't do a single thing without her opening her loud mouth. Quite nosy that girl... well ghosts.
As last resort, he wounded up in the owlery. Why not after all, birds, he could endure, just not a high pitched voice talking non-stop. So he climbed up the stairs to find himself in the tower hosting the owlery. All the owls, or so he felt, made noise at his arrival. Kenji looked at each of them, thinking maybe one could inspire him when his gaze landed on a girl, a gryffindor. He remained silent staring at her with his emotionless eyes.

xX x Xx Shirley blinked and stared at the Ravenclaw she remembered having seen in some of her classes. He seemed to be nice. Maybe she should try to have a conversation with the boy. Though, she didn’t know about if she would like that emotionless face to stare at her all the time. She gave him a warm smiled wondering about if he’d talk to her if she tried to have that conversation with him. Maybe, who knows?
She tilted her head wondering about why he had came out here. To send a letter? Probably… “Hi, I’m Shirley Parker. ” She told him, extending her hand politely. “I would prefer you to call me Parker though.” She added chuckling. She didn’t think that he was that weird. It sucked that most of the student treated him like a freak. She thought of him as an intelligent boy and an artist. An artist was probably the best description she could say about him for the moment.
“Did I disturb you in anything?” she then asked hoping she hadn’t been in his way or something. It would be a bad start to build a new friendship. She wished he would at least answer to her few questions… He didn’t seem to be that talkative…

Kenji was still staring at the girl before his eyes when she opened her mouth. To introduce herself. "...Parker, I know." he interrupted her as she said her name. Kenji lowered his gaze to look at that hand extended toward him. Her hand. A hand she was giving him while saying he could call her parker. As if he'd call her anyway! But he did not say it. People never understood he was perfectly fine by himself.
Though a solitary boy, Kenji still new a thing or two about good manners. So he shook Shirley's hand. She won't be able to say he cannot be polite.
Only after he did, she asked if she was disturbing him. He raised his gaze to meet hers. Funny she thinks she does the disturbance when she was there first. "I'm the one who should ask that." he simply replied to her. But since he saw her by the window - open, he noticed - he knew she was done sending the letter she came here for. So no one was bothering anyone.

xX x Xx Shirley smiled some more at Kenji. At least he knew her name. She knew his too, she had some sort of talent to remember everyone’s last name at least. It was some sort of talent she had. Not that useful for the moment but still, maybe some days in the future she’d need to know a lot of people’s name. Who knows.
"I'm the one who should ask that."
She shook her head at what he said. “Nah, I’ve just been writing a letter to my parents. They always worry because I’m the baby of the family…and also I tend to get in trouble a few times.” She didn’t mention a lot, if he knew her he’d know that small detail. “You’re name is Kenji right? I’ve seen you in some of my classes.” She told him cheerfully.
She didn’t understand the fact that he’d maybe like to be alone. She didn’t like to be alone. She didn’t think that some people aren’t like her… well most of the people aren’t like her. No scratch that, no one is like her. She was happy that she’d get to talk to him finally, without being bothered by the others who would probably annoy him or something. Who knows, maybe they could become great friends!

Kenji listened to her explaining why she went all the way to the owlery. Maybe he didn't seem like caring, well he didn't really care, but she could come back to him with it and he would be able to say to her what she told him exactly. Her gift was to get in trouble, his gift was an amazing memory.
“You’re name is Kenji right? I’ve seen you in some of my classes.”
Kenji simply nodded, to show her his name was indeed Kenji. It was a relatively easy name to remember, so uncommon. Even more since his last name was typically British, Boswell. Not the kind of name you would think first to match Kenji... But it's not like he had any say in the matter. His parents wanted to show off his Asian origins with an Asian name, they didn't think it could sound weird with his British surname.
It had been a few minutes the two of them were standing there, looking at each other without saying much anything. So Kenji cleared his throat and walked passed Shirley to take a look around the room. Sure it didn't have the best smell, sure it wasn't the most beautiful place in the castle, but he wasn't looking for a flower-smelling, well-decorated place. He was looking for an inspiring one. So he looked at every owls, none of them being his since he actually had none, trying to see if any could wake the artist fiber in him.

xX x Xx Now it’d be harder than she thought to get something out of his mouth she thought pausing for a few moments while studying the guy carefully. Maybe she’d get him out of this shell and get to know more things about Kenji. He did interest her, he wasn’t like the others. Plus, he was possibly her opposite. It somehow ‘attracted’ her. Not that she had a crush on him. Psh, she was too young to get hooked up with someone. She had a live to leave to the fullest and plus, she wasn’t ready to get involved in any relationship of the kind.
No, she wanted to get him to talk to her and she knew she could do it. Or at least, she hoped so. She wondered about what he liked to do, now that she recalled having seen him on the grounds he had been drawing quite often, maybe that’s why he came here, to find some subject to draw? It could be a possibility since all the time she was staring at him, he hadn’t been sending a letter or anything else of the sort.
‘I wonder about how can I make him talk…’ it was strange to see a silent Parker, a thoughtful Parker. She wasn’t always loud and cheerful; she had some moments like that too, being quiet and all. There weren’t a lot of them though...

Kenji approached his face to an owl. He was now nose to beak with it. He froze though feeling he was watched. He turned his head very slowly and noticed the girl was still there. What was she waiting for? He thought maybe he was an enigma to her as well and she decided to study him. Well, if that was the case, she was not to leave anytime soon. Best get used to her.
He walked to a cleaner spot of the room and dropped his school bag. He looked in it until he took out cupcakes. He always had a few sweets in his bag. Eating was helping him concentrate, especially sugar. This time, he took out two. "You're hungry?" he said, proposing her one of the little cake. While doing so he stuffed the other one in his mouth, including the paper around it. He ate the cupcake and placed two fingers in front of his mouth. Slowly the paper came out, untouched.

xX x Xx Shirley tilted her head to the side as she still studied the strange Ravenclaw boy. This one had seriously caught her interest. He wasn’t like the boys she uses to hang around with, he was different, very different from them. That’s what she liked about him. Of course, he wouldn’t know about that detail yet. Maybe this comment would slip out of her mouth some time but not at the moment. She thought she should drag him in some parties to present him to some new people. Maybe he’d make some friends. Who knows. As for her that’s where she mostly found the cutest boys in school. Who wouldn’t come in a party for this reason? Well, to have fun too, of course. Never forget that detail; a party had to be fun or else.
She blinked as she watched him placing his school bag on the ground and smile as he took out some sweets. The one she loved. They had the same tastes…well on those sweets that is.
"You're hungry?"
Parker’s smile grew bigger at his question. “Sure!” She exclaimed happily before grabbing the cake he had offered her and eating it bite by bite. She raised her gaze back to the boy and giggled silently at the unusual way he ate the cupcake.

After he gave her the cupcake, Kenji only focused on the one in his hands. It resulted that he stared puzzled at Shirley when he heard the girl giggle. He really seemed unable to understand what was so funny, but he didn't say it. He knew he was unusual, weird, a freak. So if she wanted to giggle about his manners well she could.
He kept staring at her. He knew that type. To her, he bet he was interesting because he wasn't like the pack of boys surrounding her. So she wanted to know more about him, make him more human. And only then she'll realize it wasn't fitting him. But that she couldn't tell right now of course. Well, OK. If she wanted that, he'll show her.
"Yes?" he asked, looking through his bag to get out his sketch book and pencils. He knew she must have questions or something. At least she certainly had a good reason to still be there.

xX x Xx Shirley seemed to realise what she had been doing; the giggling. Great, now he must’ve thought that she thought he was a freak or something weird. But she didn’t think that at all. She didn’t want him to go away from her because she had giggled like an idiot. ‘Good job idiot’ she thought mentally smacking herself. She rested a hand on her lips after she had eaten her cupcake.
She paused for a few seconds wondering about what she should say about that. Sorry? Nah, it wouldn’t work… he was in Ravenclaw and it has to be for a reason. This boy surely should have a brain or something close to it. He must be somewhat bloody intelligent; way more than her. She remembered when she had those O.W.L.S. She had to say no to almost all of those parties to make sure she’d pass the year. This year had been the worse and the most boring one of her entire life.
"Yes?"
She had gotten in her thoughts since so long she hadn’t realize she had been just staring at him and was now lost into her thoughts. Great. What a way to go… She blinked before opening her mouth to speak. “Sorry! I tend to giggle here and there, for no reasons in particular, it’s a part of me, I laugh a lot. You know that laughing is the best medicine?” she blurted out with a wide grin. What she had said was just…so random…

Kenji just blinked hearing Shirley's answer. You couldn't tell if he was surprised she thought so long just for that or if he didn't give a d**n about the fact she was laughing. "Yes, laughter really can be good. Like a ... placebo." he replied very softly. And there he was thinking she'd start asking him questions. Maybe he got wrong for once. Maybe she was just nervous but too shy to speak up her ideas about him. But to think Shirley Parker, the party-goer gryffindor, was shy sounded so weird. So out of her nature.
Kenji looked through his bag to get another cake, eating it the exact same way as the previous one, stuffing it all in his mouth and then let the paper come out. He opened his sketch book and tapped on it with his pencil. Inspiration, inspiration, where could he get inspiration?

xX x Xx Shirley stopped talking for a few moments. This has been one of the most stupidest moment she has been in. How come could she be talking about such none sense, laughter… psh, she could go worse if she wanted but she preferred not to for the moment, not wanting him to think that she was a freak or something like that. She let out an inaudible sigh before playing with one of her golden locks wondering about how she should interact with him.
"Yes, laughter really can be good. Like a ... placebo."
She nodded, still feeling stupid for having saying such a ridiculous thing while they were only starting to get to know one another. Really, when she wanted she could be so random and out of it. She placed the lock of her hair she had been playing with behind her ear and finally decided to say something. “Sorry about that, I tend to be random here and there.” she told him with a smile.
Then, something else came into her mind as she stared at his blank page. Was he looking for inspiration? Probably since he wasn’t drawing anything. She smiled, it happened to her too when she tried to think about a good prank. Maybe she could help him out with that. “ You’re looking for some inspiration right? I know how it feels, I tend to do that when I try to come out with a good prank to create…what I do to find my muse back is that I either go outside or change my mind by chatting with some of my friends. It always help.” she told him.

Kenji looked briefly at Shirley as she mentioned how much random she could be. He ignored the remark. It was even more random to mention how much random one could be. Plus, it was pointless. What would it bring to her to know he agreed or disagreed with her? So he simply returned to his blank page.
“You’re looking for some inspiration right? I know how it feels, I tend to do that when I try to come out with a good prank to create…what I do to find my muse back is that I either go outside or change my mind by chatting with some of my friends. It always help.”
Kenji raised once again his head to face her. Yes, she was a creator, an artist as well. He didn't recall her pranking much, but it was true the one really doing the pranking on him was Fred, not her. He thought about it for a second. Going outside... but he went outside already and found nothing to inspire him. Chatting with friends... what friend could he chat with? Was it even his kind to chat? No, definitely not. Which could be weird since he wasn't the kind to say only one syllable. He could talk when he wanted to. But he found it quite hard to get someone to talk to. "All right. Let's talk." he said to Shirley, thinking maybe she also wanted to talk. He hoped she had an idea of what to say or else they'd be talking about nothing.

She glanced to her left and her right in the corridor. She didn't really wanted to be seen. Not that she was vain or anything, if she had been able to avoid anyone, then she wouldn't be really lying in her letter right? Tiptoeing through the hallways, the ink black haired Asian kept as quiet as possible. Clutching the letter close to her, she was so close to the door. So close to the Owlery. Sighing, Mira opened her letter and reread it, in case she wanted to correct some things. [/s] big brother; How are you? This year has been pleasantly boring so far. I want to thank you for the moon cakes. As promised, I will talk to anyone I bump into...for the sake of yours and ...mine alike. How is big brother's clothing store? Tell him to send me some more moon cake, I ran out. Mama, I think I really am no good at this...social thing. So far..I have talked to almost everyone I bumped into. They held very low and quick conversations with me. I guess the rumors are still flooding their ears. Brazen children. I will send you a picture of my current condition as soon as possible. -Zhang Sui-Feng Mira. [/i][/right][/ul] Nodding at it, she liked it, it was cold and detailed, just like all her other letters. Her mother and brother wouldn't be able to tell of her current feelings by writing it, they were very observant on such matters. Rolling it back up, the ink haired witch scurried across the floors, the door was within range. Her eyes targeted the door as if it was a quidditch game. Quickly now, she must hurry and send the owl on it's way. Opening the door quickly, she cringed at it's creek as it slowly opened. Walking in, she blinked. There were two people in there. She recognized neither of them, seeing she had been the enigma of the school for the past 5 years. A bit taken back, there were two things in her mind. One, she might have to change the letter she wrote in ink and the second, she might even have to hold a decent conversation with them. Crap. "M..my...My apologies for the interruption." She bowed as she would if facing a upper authority in a sign of respect. "Please ignore my presences. I'm just here to..uh deliver a letter." She nearly cursed at herself from her stuttering. What a fool she was making of herself. Curse her promise to her mother...what other foolish rumors and gossip can arise from this meeting...what if her mother was notified..yet again for her stupid composure. God...
